Responsible use of artificial intelligence
The TCSalud platform and this site's assistant use artificial intelligence. In healthcare, that calls for clear rules: here are ours.
Our principles
Transparency: you'll always know when you're talking to an AI.
Human oversight: AI supports administrative and logistical tasks; it does not make clinical decisions or replace the judgment of healthcare staff.
Privacy first: we use only the data we need and apply enhanced controls to health data.
Security: we protect models, prompts, and integrations against misuse, manipulation, and data leaks.
Fairness: we review and correct biases that could harm individuals or groups.
Accountability: we document how each solution works and stand behind it.
AI on this site
The chat uses language models from specialized providers to answer questions about our services and log your request. It doesn't handle medical or patient inquiries: for those, contact your healthcare institution or, in an emergency, call 123. The savings calculator runs on fixed formulas in your browser and doesn't use AI.
What we don't do
We don't use AI to diagnose, prescribe, or make decisions about patient care.
We don't make automated decisions with legal effects on individuals.
We don't sell conversations or use them for third-party advertising.
We contract AI models under enterprise plans that, per those providers' terms, don't use the information to train their models.
On the TCSalud platform
Each institution defines which tasks AI supports, with what data, and with what human review checkpoints.
Institutional data is handled according to its contract and our data policy, with role-based access controls.
We monitor the quality, security, and biases of solutions before and after putting them into operation.
We follow Colombian data protection regulations and the Colombian Government's ethical framework for AI.
